I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter CD called Fancy Folds and Motions (this is the first cd, I collaborated with Pat Huntoon on) This technique is called the Marvelous Marquee.

Cardstock: Orangie Smooth, White Storm, Hazelnut Tan
Accessories: Paper Trimmer, Scoring Tool, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, White Gel Pen, Deep Olive Sheer Ribbon

I stamped the background with stamps from the set. I used Pink Pirqouette Cardstock, Black Cardstock from MFP and White Storn Cardstock. The patterned paper is Bittersweet Basic Grey.I used the luscious Rose Satin Ribbon and Mini Pink/ Purple Roses attached with Mini Glue Dots.

Hello Everyone - I hope you had a FANTASTIC week! We have had a very busy one, but it was a good one. Not that anything exciting happened, it just was uneventful, busy with normal every day life stuff and filled.

Today is Sweet Stop Sketch Saturday !! This is a SNEAK PEEK from Mark's Finest Papers, called Relax a Bit. This is such a gorgeous set! I hope you will come join us as we share more samples next Tuesday through Friday!!!

I stamped the background with stamps from the set. I used Pink Pirqouette Cardstock, Black Cardstock from MFP and White Storn Cardstock. The patterned paper is Bittersweet Basic Grey.I used the luscious Rose Satin Ribbon and Mini Pink/ Purple Roses attached with Mini Glue Dots.

ZEN HEARTS!!!

Hello Everyone! I hope this finds you having a WONDERFUL week!! Todays card is showcasing one of my FAVORITE techniques from the latest Technique Junkie Newsletter, the ZEN STAMPING Tutorial. Not only is there a great tutorial on this, but Pat offers several samples of "Zen" to play with!!!

I used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up! on the white cardstock and layered that on black card stock. I adhered those layers to the red card stock that measures at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I stamped the Scattered Hearts Stamp from Drs Designs and then used a Black Spica Copic Pen to create the ZEN technique. I used the Red Spica Copic Pen to color around the hearts to add a little zing to my Zen. I layered this white layer on black card stock and punched the border using the eyelet border punch. The sentiment is called One Line Valentine Greeting I finished the card with this gorgeous Red Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

BOTANICAL BUTTERFLIES

Hello Everyone! This is Chrissy D here. I am SO excited to be joining the Design Team for Classy Cards 'n Such! Classy Cards 'n Such has a wide variety of product and beautiful stamps! On the card that I am sharing with you today I used several FABULOUS products from her store...

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Ballet Blue cardstock folded in half. I layered it on Lilac and Vanilla Card stock. I stamped the smaller images from the Botanical Butterflies stamp randomly across the background in Lilac ink. I then ran the card stock through the Big Shot with a floral Embossing folder.

I stamped the beautiful butterfly stamp in Versamark on Vanilla cardstock. I sprinkled Gold Embossing powder over the image and heat embossed it. The image was cut out with the Heart Circles by Spellbinders in vanilla card stock and the Blossom Three die was cut in Ballet Blue and Lilac card stock.

I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter and Stacked Nesties technique from from the October/ November 2011 issue and added Dimensionals between the layers to add a little dimension.The image was colored with Primsa Color Pencils.

I couldn't resist using one of my FAVORITE dies from Bev's store called the Fanciful Flourish in Amethyst card stock and cutting it apart to have it lay across the card. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Crafters Tools too. This helps the card stock pop out of those detailed dies!!!

To finish off this project, I added Chuckles Tear Drops using Mini Glue Dots to attach to the corners!

HAPPY SATURDAY!!! Today is Sweet Stop Sketch Saturday! Korin created such a great sketch for us today (see below!)

The Heart image (retired SU) was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the ADORABLE Rhubarb Bear image is a Digital stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I colored the images with Copic Markers E31, E39, R85, and Prismacolor pencils. I layered the Basic Grey Designer Papers on Early Espresso. The Regal Rose card base is 5 1/4" x 10 1/2".

BIRTHDAY CHALLENGE!

HELLO! It is a cloudy, foggy day here in Wisconsin and I have a cold so that makes my mind feel the same way! Blech!

It is Challenge Day over at the DRS Designs Blog and this weeks challenge is to create a card with a HAPPY BIRTHDAY THEME!!!

This new tulip stamp is actually a SNEAK PEEK to the new release that is coming out this week! Sorry, it is not up on the website yet so there is no link. Do not worry though, I will have MORE creations using this beauty!!!

I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter and the Stacked Nesties tutorial from the October/ November 2011 issue. I stamped the branch from the Four Corner Butterfly background in White Craft Ink on the Real Red Card stock. I matted it on the black and white card stock. I stamped the Small One Line Happy Birthday (250B) on the Ribbon Tags Trio Spellbinders. I added some stitched ribbon and popped them up with Dimensionals. The black pearls are Viva Pearl Pens. LOVE THESE!!!

SHAMROCK CIRCLE!

Hi Everyone, This is Chrissy D here again! I can not believe it is February already! I used the technique from the Technique Junkie Newsletter called Acetate Sparkle from the August/ September 2005 newsletter.

Once I did the technique, I cut out the Shamrock Circle with a Craft knife and I flipped it over and used Glue Dots to adhere to the circle. I used the Emerald Bazzill Bling and the Heart Circles Spellbinders and mounted the white circle with Dimensionals to pop it up.

I ran the white card stock through the Big Shot and used the Snowflakes embossing folder. I layered it on black card stock and wrapped this white satin Shamrock Ribbon around and tied the bow. I stamped the Get Your Irish On sentiment on white cardstock and cut out my own little banner. I added black brads to three of the corners and a Wasabi layer as my Card base to finish it off.

Hello Friends! A few weeks ago, Susana's Custom Art and Card Design had a drawing on Facebook and I won!!! I was able to pick out an embossing folder, a stamp of my choice and a 6 x 6 pack of paper. I picked out this adorable image (and it is on sale now!) called 3 Wishes. I even picked out this GORGEOUS paper (using a color combination that is so much FUN!!!) called Utopia from Kaisercraft.

I used the Spellbinders Die Labels 18 and colored the background with RV000 Copics. I added Wild Orchid Flowers from I Brake For Stamps and ZVA Creative Pearls and Turquoise Satin Ribbon.

HELLO! Ahhh Thursday! Do you know what that means! Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!! Although I am a stay-at-home, I LOVE weekends. I do home school my children, so the weekends often offer me a break from my daily routine. :) Plus, my husband is home and most days - I LOVE that!

VALENTINE TREE

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today I am sharing a fun card with the Valentine Tree! Isn't thos stamp fun?? I love the hearts as the leaves on this fun tree! I stamped the image in Black Staz On and used Melon Mambo Ink and a Blender Pen to color on this Glossy White Cardstock. I used the paper piercing tool and Mat Pack to pierce the light pink card stock. I stamped the Fly Away Hearts and Flowers in Melon Mambo Ink. The faux stitching was created with a stitched stamp and Black Staz On ink. I stamped the One Line Valentine Greeting and popped it up with Dimensionals. I wrapped some pink gingham ribbon around the image and added some buttons from my stash, attaching them with mini glue dots.

Hello Everyone and a very happy Wednesday to each of you! I have a project today using the latest stamp release that I totally LOVE.

For my card today, I’m sharing the image called “ Stacked Love”! I stamped this image in Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I also used the Valentine's Hugs and Kisses, Woven Plaid and the Open Plaid Background stamps. I used the Navy and Red Ink Pad. I used Copic Markers B28, B23, B21 and R46 to color the images. I finished the card off with some K&C Gems.

Hey Everyone! Welcome!!! I hope this finds you having a GREAT day! After a day of running yesterday, I am ready to stay home and work and stamp today! Check out these FUN stamps! If you have been on Facebook, you may have heard the sentiment Don't make me unfriend you!!! :) Well...maybe if you are in the 7th grade. ***giggle***

Todays card uses the FUN images from DRS Designs. Do you see that little pig flinging the mud? That would be me flinging it at my sisters. :) I was always the trouble maker with a grin. I used the Leonard Pig's Bathtime Buddies image and stamped in Cocoa Ink. I colored these cute pigs with the R02, R20 and R24 Copic markers. The card stock I used is the Craft, Blush, Red Poppy and Whisper White. I stamped the Unfriend You Greeting in Red Poppy Ink. I stamped the Unfriend You Greeting repeatedly in Versamark on the Blush cardstock. I added the Red Gem Brads along the side and the red and white stitched ribbon. The Leonard pigs' image is popped up with Pop Dots to add a little dimension.

HI Everyone!!! Today is DRS Designs Challenge Day! This week we are challenging you to use the Spotlight Technique. You can have a chance to win the 3 stamps Come play along with our challenge to win!

On my card today, I stamped the Interlocking Stars Background in Silver Encore Ink on Navy card stock. On White Card stock, I stamped the Spaceboy Skip image in Navy Ink and then on another sheet with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with Copic markers. I punched out Spaceboy Skip's head with my 1 1/4" Circle Punch and the Navy mat using the 1 3/8" circle punch.

I stamped the Love You to the Moon and Back greeting on Bashful Blue cardstock and used the Spellbinders Pinking Circle die on White Cardstock. I mounted them together using Dimensionals to pop then up. I dug around in my stash and used some of my Star Eyelets and set them with my Cropodile. I wrapped a light blue grosgrain around the bottom of the card and added some Crystal Effects to the Spaceboy Skips face mask.

Hello Everyone!!! Isn't this little pig FUN??? It makes me smile! On todays card, I used the BRAND NEW release from DRS Designs! I used the WONDERFUL One Line Valentine's Greeting and Leonard Pig Rose Offering as my primary images. On the background I stamped the Fly Away Hearts and Roses in Regal Rose Ink. I layered the images on the Spellbinders Labels 18, the Elegant Ovals die and the Ovals die and the words are stamped on the Ribbon banners die. I sponged the edges with Rose Red Ink and popped up each layer to add some dimension using Pop Dots. I wrapped a White Satin Ribbon around and tied a bow to finish off this cute Valentine.

Hello Everyone! Today, we are BACK to normal!!! I had a WONDERFUL 11 days with my family and my husband was off, but I am SO glad I can start working and get back to my normal routine! What a wonderful feeling! I trust you had a wonderful Christmas Season and want to wish you all a VERY Happy, Healthy New Year! I am setting many goals and breaking them down into small pieces AND setting up an accountability system too!

We seem to be having a VERY mild winter so far in Wisconsin. In fact, so far this season, we have NOT had any snow that has really accumulated to anything. We had flurries yesterday, but even the temperatures have been mild. Now, don't get me wrong, I do not want to make it snow, but a little WHITE would be nice!!! I am tired of the BROWN!

The Stockings were hung...

by the chimney with care... Hello Everyone, My family has a long drawn out Christmas celebration. With family scattered through out the States, we see them all different days! This is good and bad... good because we can prolong the celebration, bad for the waistline! :)

I just love this "I Scene a Stocking" stamp from DRS Designs. I stamped this on White Neenah cardstock and colored it with my Copic Markers. Using a Glassy glaze, I added White Flower Soft on the cuff.

I used a Stocking Punch for the additional stockings and stamped the Starry background in Red Ink and the Open Plaid Background with White Craft Ink. I used a Signo White Gel Pen to add the faux stitching. I added the Water Colored Dew Drops along the button with some Mini Glue Dots to finish off the card!

RED HOLLY DAYS!

Happy "Holly" Days Everyone!!! This is Chrissy D here!!! I can hardly believe Christmas is a mere 4 days away! Every day has been packed with activities and while this is my favorite time of year, I am ready for all of the Christmas cookies to be gone!

On todays card, I used the FUN Fanfare Square and stamp it in red, blue and green. I then made them into a diamond shape and mounted them on black card stock. I stamped the Design Tag Die Cut in Black Memento Ink and colored it with B05, R46 and YG67 from my Copic collection and cut it out with my scissors and mounted it on dimensionals. I stamped the Happy Holly Days Greeting in blue ink and finished the card off with some Red Satin Ribbon and gems in each corner.

Hi Everyone! Today is Sweet Stop Sketch Saturday and todays Sketch has a TWIST! You need to use Chipboard!!! :) Here is the sketch - I twisted it up right to change it up a bit....

I was struggling with creativity and decided to mist my background with Clear Snap Smooch Spray Turquoise, but it looked plain so I then ran it through my Big Shot with my Snowflakes cuttlebug folder... Well, then I couldn't see the snowflakes very well... so I decided to smear White Craft Ink over it, but then I couldn't see that very well, so I added White Embossing Powder and heat embossed it and this is the background I came up with.... It really shimmers!!!

On my first card, I stamped the tree line from the Ice and Snow set on the Mottled Berry Cardstock . Then I sponged the edges with Bashful Blue ink. Along the bottom portion of my card, I masked the trees and sponged the snow with White Craft Ink, then sprinkled Hologram Highlights Embossing Powder and heat embossed the snow to give it that fabulous SPARKLE!

I embossed the snowflakes from the Ice & Snow Set with the White Embossing on the Patterned Paper from the Summer Garden Premium Paper Pack. I Added the Beautiful, Satin Light Blue Ribbon. I used the Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch and ran it through my Xyron. Unpeeled it and added some Sparkly Glitter! The thinking of you comes from the Pussy Willows Set on the Spellbinders.

On my second card, I stamped the snowflakes on the Glossy White Cardstock in Bashful Blue ink. I then ran it through the Big Shot with the Snowflakes embossing folder. I stamped the tree line from the Ice & Snow stamp set on the Glossy White Cardstock and sponged around the sky line. I added some Stardust Stickles to the trees and ground. It did not turn out like I was hoping! I used the Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch and added the Basic Grey Half Pearls. I then added this gorgeous Satin Turquoise Ribbon to finish it off!

On my final card, I heat embossed the bird and font stamps from the Pussy Willows Stamp Set with gold embossing powder on the Corn Husk Card stock. I stamped the pussy willows along the bottom portion and heat embossed with the gold embossing powder on the Brushed Gold Card stock. I used the Momma's Favorite Purple Linen Finish Card stock and the Premium Vanilla Cardstock as additional layers. I used some gold ribbon I had in my stash and added a purple button too.

SNOWMEN BRING SMILES

I have TWO posts today - you can see the other one here!

HELLO!!! I love this little snowman - he really makes me SMILE! This card was so fun to make. I do not know about you, but I can get stuck in a "color" rut and use the same colors all of the time. Red is one of my favorite colors, so that is one I use a lot! I tried a new color scheme for this card instead of the "traditional" winter whites and blues which is what I would gravitate towards to create a wintery feel. I took the Marina Mist card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the snowflakes cuttlebug folder. Once the card stock was embossed, I sponged it with the White Craft Ink.

I stamped the Heart Swag Snowman with Memento Ink (Tuxedo Black) and colored him with my Copic Markers. I started cutting out the cute snowman but ran out of space, so I placed the remaining heart on the top of the die cut. I used the Spellbinders Elegant Ovals die to stamp the Snowmen Smiles Greeting on and tied a big Satin Red Bow along the bottom portion of the card. Using Mini Glue Dots, I added three Dew Drops in the upper left corner of the card.

Hello Friends! I hope this finds you well and healthy!!! I have spent the weekend resting and sick. My children were generous enough to share their colds and viruses and with a lack of sleep, I caught it! BLECH!

On my first card, I stamped the lemons and the branch from Pucker Up with Distress Ink in Wild Honey and Peeled Paint on the White Storm Cardstock. I layered it on the Deep Olive and Aged Sunflower Premium Papers. I painted the image with a water color brush and the Creative Inspiration Paints in Chocolate, Green Olive, Sunshine, Buttercup, Evergreen. I wrapped the luscious Spring Leaf Gingham ribbon and added a pretty Hat Pin.

I made my second card for Saturdays Sweet Stop Sketch (to find more about the Sweet Stop Sketch scroll down 2 posts!) I used the White Storm Cardstock, Black Linen Cardstock, Basic Grey Papers, and Yoyo Yellow Cardstock to layer the card. I ran the Basic Grey Paper through my Big Shot and used the Swiss Dots folder to add the cute dots. I added some Dew Drops and the Black Stitched Ribbon to finish it off.

Hello My Friends! I am SO THANKFUL it is Saturday! My children have been ill most of the week, and every night my sleep has been interrupted. I asked them to NOT wake me up today! I am looking forward to sleep in!

A CHRISTMAS PACKAGE

Hello Everyone-
I am in a WONDERFUL Yahoo Group we call the "ISLAND." It is filled with a sweet group of women - all different personalities and gifted in so many ways!!! I have been a part of this group around 8 years. Many of them have been in this group for longer than I have. We all share different opinions, etc - but the best thing of all is we can discuss these things with Love and Respect for one another. It is so nice to have a group of friends - some we have met and some we have not and to what a blessing it is to SHARE LIFE TOGETHER. I LOVE THIS GROUP of wonderful women even when we can agree to disagree!

Anyways, this Christmas Season, we decided to do a STOCKING SWAP! I received mine yesterday from my beautiful friend, Angie, who is having quite the challenging year! I am SO BLESSED by all of the goodies she sent to me - most of which were HANDMADE!!! In between caring for her husband and family through many Character Building Opportunities, she found the time to BLESS ME! So here is a BIG THANK YOU and a BIG HUG to her....

Each week, we will host a challenge on Thursdays. This weeks challenge is POLKADOTS!!! I decided to use non traditional colors to create this Christmas card.

I juiced up my Bravo Burgundy Classic ink pad and worked REALLY FAST and sprinkled on the Hollograms Highlight Embossing Powder. This helped create the shimmery look on the Snowflake Circle Cut Out. I used the Top Note Die and the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder to create my "polka dots." Unfortunately I did not have any polka dot stamps! I cut out the wreath and sponged the edges. Using Dimensionals, I popped it up and added some gems. Using a paper piercing tool, I added some holes around the Top Note Die. I then stamped the Have a Jolly Holiday words along the bottom. The cute Pink and White Twine comes from Really Reasonable Ribbon!

WINTER HAPPY THOUGHTS

Hello Everyone!!! DRS Designs has a new challenge on Thursdays!!! This past week's challenge is to create a card using Faux Stitching! Check in tomorrow for the new challenge!

On my top card I used my Big Shot and Stocking die and ran it through with the Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder. I used the cute Reindeer Ralph image and colored him in with Prisma Color Pencils and used some mineral spirits. Punched him our with a 1 3/8" Circle punch and sponged the edges and adhered with Dimensionals.

On my second card, I used the 4 in 1 Snowflakes and stamped it in Baja Breeze on the same color card stock. I stamped the hiking boots in Artichoke and sponged the edges. I used the Tree Line Border 981P and lightly sponged it with Artichoke ink. I sponged the edges with Not Quite Navy Ink. I added some buttons and the stitched ribbon.
